Composite drawing of alleged suspect in possible child abduction in Abbotsford released

THE Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate a report of a possible child abduction attempt that occurred on August 15 at approximately 8:30 p.m. at a residence in the 2700-block of Maple Street.

The child victim reported that an unknown male reached through an open bedroom window and pulled them out of the bedroom, along the side of the house and out to the roadway. The child victim then broke free, and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. The child victim did not receive any injuries.

A description has been provided by the child victim, which was used to create a composite drawing.

The child victim described the male as a dark-skinned male, approximately 40 years old, approximately 5’10, medium build, brown short hair, a full beard, a silver septum piercing in his nose and a ‘flower’ tattoo on his left arm (bicep to forearm).

The male was wearing a ripped blue short sleeved t-shirt, ripped blue jeans, and blue and white slip-on shoes.

If you recognize this suspect, you are requested to contact the Abbotsford Police immediately.

Abbotsford Police said they take these types of incidents very seriously and are continuing to seek witnesses and surveillance or dashcam footage from those who may be able to assist.
