Conservative Leader Candice Bergen extends party’s best wishes to Muslims observing Ramadan

CANDICE Bergen, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on Friday on the beginning of Ramadan:

“Today at sunset, Muslims in Canada and around the world will celebrate the beginning of the month of Ramadan, a sacred time of fasting, prayer, devotion and charity.

“After two difficult years, Muslims will finally be able to celebrate Ramadan with their communities and family members in homes, community centers and mosques across the country.

“We are reminded during Ramadan that hope always triumphs over fear and optimism always wins over despair.

“For many of us, Ramadan is a great opportunity to learn more about this holy month, and the rich culture, traditions and celebrations that are important to Muslim communities. This celebration also brings strength, courage and unity to Canadians of the Muslim faith.

“On behalf of the Conservative Party of Canada, I would like to extend my best wishes to Muslims observing Ramadan across Canada.

“Ramadan Mubarak!”
