COQUITLAM RCMP are inviting the public to a community outreach event following the recent shooting near Foster Avenue and North Road in Coquitlam on the night of Sunday, July 2 in which Karnvir Garcha was shot and killed.
This community event will provide residents and businesses an opportunity to ask questions about community safety in their neighbourhood.
“We understand that people have questions and concerns around community safety following serious incidents, such as public shootings,” said Media Relations Officer Cpl. Alexa Hodgins. “The Burquitlam Community Police Office will be open to the public on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for residents to voice their concerns, ask questions and connect with resources.”
The event will be an opportunity for the public to engage with Coquitlam RCMP by addressing community concerns by providing emotional support, education and access to additional resources onsite. These resources will include: Victim Services, Community Police volunteers, police officers, home and personal safety information, and Block Watch information.
