COQUITLAM RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 57-year-old Jin Ming Han after a fire was deliberately set to a family residence near Durant Drive and Johnson Street in Coquitlam.
Coquitlam frontline officers attended the residence shortly after 6:30 a.m. on October 7 after receiving a 9-1-1 report from a concerned neighbour. Once police arrived, they saw part of the residence on fire.
Coquitlam Fire Department quickly attended to extinguish the flames.
Two females inside the residence were able to escape the fire. One female was located with serious injuries, and both have been transported to local hospitals for medical care.
Police believe that the parties are known to each other.
Police are searching for Jin Ming Han, who is believed to have left the area in a blue 2003 Mercedes with licence plate of 986MXP.
Jin Ming Han can be described as:
- East Asian male
- Brown eyes
- Black hair
- 5’5 tall
- 154 lbs
- Slim build
Police also believe that Jin Ming Han may be driving a White 2007 Chevrolet express van with licence plate of EH5088.
The file has been assumed by the Coquitlam RCMP Investigational Support Team.
“We are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jin Ming Han who is believed to be driving either a blue 2003 Mercedes with BCL: 986MXP or a white 2007 Chevrolet express van with BCL: EH5088,” said Cpl. Alexa Hodgins, Coquitlam RCMP Media Relations Officer. “If Jin Ming Han or either of these vehicles are located, please do not approach and dial 9-1-1 immediately.”
