Coquitlam RCMP seek to identify hit-and-run driver in June 9 incident

COQUITLAM RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver who fled a motor vehicle collision causing extensive damage to metal meridian fencing along Pinetree Way in Coquitlam.

RCMP frontline officers responded to a hit-and-run on Friday, June 9 at 1:45 p.m. on Pinetree Way between Lincoln Avenue and Anson Avenue in Coquitlam. A dark grey Honda CR-V was travelling southbound on Pinetree Way when it collided with the metal meridian fencing separating the lanes of travel.

The driver of the vehicle was observed exiting their vehicle, assessing the damage, before leaving the area. The driver left the vehicle’s bumper at the scene of the collision.

The driver can be described as:

– a white woman
– 50-60 years old
– Short blonde hair
“We know the driver is aware of the collision as they were observed exiting the vehicle to look at the substantial damage. We are asking the driver to do the right thing, and contact our investigators,” said Media Relations Officer Cpl. Alexa Hodgins.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision, has dash cam video or may know the driver to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2023-15062.
