Coquitlam RCMP seize drugs, stolen goods and weapons from stolen vehicle

COQUITLAM RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle report, resulting in the seizure of drugs, stolen goods and weapons from a stolen vehicle.

On Tuesday, August 6, police received a suspicious vehicle report in connection to an underground parking lot of an apartment building in the area of North Road and Smith Street in Coquitlam. The vehicle had been reported stolen from a neighbouring jurisdiction.

Coquitlam RCMP responded to scene and located the stolen vehicle.

On Monday, August 12, a search warrant was executed on the vehicle and police located:

* Approximately 1.5 kg of suspected fentanyl
* Approximately 400 grams of suspected psilocybin
* Suspected methamphetamine
* Suspected heroin
* Bicycle
* Scooter
* Tools
* Sports cards
* High-end purses
* Identifications in various names
* Bear spray
* BB gun with ammo
“We would like to thank the public who promptly reported this suspicious vehicle,” said Media Relations Officer, Cpl. Alexa Hodgins. “It’s important for us to hear from the community about their neighbourhood concerns. In this incident, we received the report as it was occurring which allowed our officers to quickly locate and secure the vehicle.”

The file is still under investigation.
