Cyclist-involved collision in Surrey

ON Tuesday, November 16 at approximately 5 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision in the 9500-block of 156 Street.

A pickup truck was travelling northbound on 156 Street when it struck a cyclist. The 50-year-old female cyclist was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor in this collision, police said.

Traffic in the area will be disrupted for several hours as the investigation continues.
