THE City of Delta is bringing free, unique programming to Delta recreation centres this spring with Youth Week and Youthapalooza.

Every year for Youth Week, the City of Delta provides a variety of free youth-centric events to celebrate young people between the ages of 10 and 18 years and the incredible contributions they make to the community. This year, in addition to the Youth Week programming from May 1 through 7, Delta will also be providing a series of activities that appeal to an array of interests leading up to the event week, as well as the concluding extravaganza at Youthapalooza on May 8.

“Every year, Youth Week provides us with the opportunity to celebrate the incredible youth who call Delta home,” said Delta Mayor George V. Harvie on Tuesday. “We hope local youth take advantage of the free activities and the chance to be active, creative, and to make meaningful connections with their community and one another.”

The Youthapalooza event on May 8 is new in 2026, providing an opportunity for attendees to socialize at a BBQ at North Delta Recreation Centre, perform at the Open Stage or dance the evening away at the Silent Dance Party at North Delta Centre for the Arts.

This year, Delta is building towards the week’s festivities with the Path to Youth Week programming, featuring events like Ice Cream Adventures on April 23 and 30, and Try It! Teen Swimming Lessons on April 26. These events will run alongside Delta’s regularly scheduled Youth programming, including Youth Hangouts, Youth Nights, and Youth Lounge. Attendees are challenged to complete a Path to Youth Week Bingo Card in the lead up to Youth Week.

BC Youth Week is an annual provincial celebration that runs throughout municipalities in British Columbia at the beginning of May. This year’s schedule of events at Delta facilities includes:

All Youth Week events, including Path to Youth Week and Youthapalooza, are free. Find the full schedule of events, registration links, and Bingo Cards at delta.ca/Youth.
