Delta Police arrest two teenagers in pellet gun assaults

ON Tuesday, Delta Police issued a news release in relation to youth who were randomly assaulting pedestrians with a pellet gun.

Police said that between July 12 and July 15, they received three separate “assault with a weapon” reports in Tsawwassen. Each call involved youths / young adults driving in a grey or silver BMW sedan, shooting a pellet/BB gun at pedestrians.

Police said that there was no known relation between any of the victims. No serious injuries had occurred.

Police said on Wednesday that on Tuesday evening, a community member assisted them by providing information about the suspects and the suspect vehicle involved in those assaults.

As a result of that information, officers were able to locate the car and arrest a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old male allegedly responsible for these assaults. Both males are from Tsawwassen. The pellet gun was also recovered at the time of the arrests.

The males have been released on undertakings and turned over to their parents.
