Desi Bands selected for International Indian Film Festival Toronto

“DESI Bands,” a film by Honey Harry Films (India), has been selected for the International Indian Film Festival Toronto to be screened on Friday, August 16 at 5 p.m. at Bayview Hill Community Centre, Toronto.

This film tells the tale of a disappearing community of folk singers and dancers around Rajasthan and Punjab. Through the life of one family, it narrates how the so-called progress and development of society has commodified our lives and impoverished and criminalized those on the margins. What is lost or gained in the process cannot be easily counted, defined, or measured.

The film is written, produced and directed by Sukhwinder Singh. the caset includes Tarun Kumar, Sanijva Vats, Ashok Sharma, Suman, Ankita Gosai, Vishal Saini, Karamjeet Barar, Ajay Chauhan and Vikas Khosla.
