Drugs and cash seized from two Surrey homes

THE Surrey RCMP Drug Unit executed search warrants at two Surrey homes to disrupt the drug supply for a street-level drug trafficking network.

In March, Surrey RCMP received information from a member of the public regarding a phone line that was selling illicit drugs in Surrey. The Surrey RCMP Drug Unit started an investigation into the suspected dial-a-dope line. Investigators utilized number of investigative techniques to identify the suspects involved in the drug trafficking. Three male suspects were identified and arrested.

On October 17, Surrey RCMP Drug Unit with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Surrey RCMP Gang Enforcement Team (SGET), executed two search warrants: one in the 16000-block of 16 Avenue and the other in the 13600-block of 100 Avenue. The following was seized during the search:

  • 4 oz of suspected fentanyl
  • 2.5 oz of suspected cocaine;
  • 1.5 oz of suspected Methamphetamine
  • $5,585 cash
  • 2 cellphones

The investigation remains ongoing for the forensic examination and lab analysis of the seized items. A report to Public Prosecution Service of Canada will be drafted and charges recommended for the suspects involved, police said.

“If you suspect a person is selling drugs, or a residence is being used for drug trafficking, call your local police. Any amount of information could be crucial to police to identify the suspects and obtain evidence that would bring them to court. Our community members are our eyes and ears and play a significant role in keeping the city safe,” said Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, on Thursday.

Anyone wishing to report information about possible drug trafficking is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
