East Broadway reopening to four lanes between Main Street, Quebec Street

EAST Broadway between Main Street and Quebec Street in Vancouver will reopen ahead of schedule to four lanes of traffic on the morning of Thursday, June 25, the Ministry of Transportation and Transit announced on Wednesday.

The sidewalk on the south side of Broadway will be reconnected along this corridor.

Single-lane-alternating traffic will be in place from 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, until 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, between Main Street and Quebec Street to accommodate line painting.

Through the summer, crews will continue work on the final streetscape, and some intermittent lane closures will still be required to complete sidewalks, apply the final lift of asphalt and carry out other finishing work, such as installing green infrastructure along the boulevard and street furniture.

Plan for extra travel time, watch for wayfinding signage and follow directions from traffic-control personnel and posted signs. Access to businesses, health services and residences will be maintained throughout construction.
