Escaped inmate Mustafa Sa’Ada back in custody

SURREY RCMP announced on Friday that Mustafa Sa’Ada, the Surrey Pretrial Services Centre inmate who fled on Thursday, has been located and arrested.

Sa’Ada was located by Vancouver Police Department on Thursday and taken into custody. He was found on West Hastings Street near Carrall Street after a tip was received from a keen-eyed citizen.

The inmate was being processed for release on January 13, and upon learning that his release conditions were not met and that he would in fact be staying at the Pretrial Centre, he fled the reception area.

Sa’Ada has a history of violent offences and was in custody for robbery.

Surrey RCMP thanked Vancouver Police Department, Integrated Police Dog Service Unit, Air One, BC Corrections, the media and members of the community for their assistance with locating the inmate.
