Fatal motor vehicle collision near Vancouver’s Jericho Beach

VANCOUVER Police are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision near Jericho Beach that claimed the life of a man in his 30s on Sunday night.

Officers responded to multiple 911 calls of a man driving erratically westbound along West 4 Avenue on October 10. At around 9 p.m., the driver collided into a tree near Northwest Marine Drive and West 4 Avenue.  The man died on scene after attempts to revive him by Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services and BC Ambulance Service were unsuccessful.

“Speed was definitely a factor in this tragic incident,” said Constable Tania Visintin. “Our Collision Investigation Unit is investigating to determine if there were any other contributing factors.”

This is Vancouver’s 14th motor vehicle fatality of 2021.
