NORTH Vancouver RCMP are investigating after a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle.

On January 15 at 7:26 p.m., police received a report of a motor vehicle collision in the 200-block of Esplanade West. Police attended and confirmed that a pedestrian died in the crash.

Lane closures will be in effect for several hours to allow for investigators to gather the evidence safely. Motorist are asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route.

As the investigation is in the early stages, very little details are available, and causal factors are not yet known, police said
