ON Thursday at 6:36 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a dump truck and an SUV in the 12200-block of 80 Avenue. Despite lifesaving efforts, one person was declared deceased at the scene

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called in to assist the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) with the investigation.

The investigation is in the early stages and investigators are working to identify all factors that led to this fatality. Traffic in the area will be affected for an undetermined amount of time as investigators process the scene. Currently, 80 Avenue is closed to westbound traffic from 124 Street to 120A Street.
