Female charged in Squamish domestic assault involving knife

SQUAMISH RCMP’s Serious Crime investigators are probing the circumstances surrounding a domestic dispute on Sunday which left both parties with serious injuries.

On July 14 at approximately 9 p.m., police responded to a report of a domestic assault involving a knife in the neighbourhood of Valleycliffe. Police located a male and female who were both injured.

Both parties were transported to hospital, received medical attention and were later discharged.

The female, a 36-year-old Squamish resident, was released from police custody with a court date in September.

Sgt. Jeff Shore of the Squamish General Investigation Section acknowledged “the quick response of neighbours who phoned 911 and administered first aid until emergency services arrived on scene.”

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the Sea to Sky General Investigation Section who are working alongside the Integrated Forensic Identification Section.
