VANCOUVER June 20, 2014 — It was the final pre-season game for both teams. The battle under the dome was to determined who will be 2-0 during the preseason games. Heading into Friday night’s game, it was time for Kevin Glenn to showcase his stuff. He threw for 173 yards and a touchdown, while Stefan Logan put on a show all by himself. Logan had a huge first half, racking up 153 yards, highlighted by a 92 yard punt return for a touchdown, as the Lions trounced the Calgary Stampeders 37-13 at BC Place Stadium. Kicker Paul McCallum, who will be only used for field goal kicking duties this year, also had a solid night, connecting on five of his six field goals for a 15-point contribution.
There’s no doubt that Travis Lulay is the team’s undisputed number one QB, but a nagging shoulder injury had sidelined him during training camp and he will sit for the next couple of weeks. It is a big relief for the BC fans that the team picked up Glenn. The Lions defense was strong caused many turnovers and made Calgary pay for it.
This Saturday June 28 2014, the Lions will kickoff their season at home against Mike Reilly and the Eskimos. Game time 3pm.
