VANCOUVER Police on Wednesday confirmed the identities of two people who died in a fire at Gastown’s Winters Hotel last month.
Mary Garlow, 68, and Dennis Guay, 53, were identified through DNA, and their next-of-kin have been notified.
On April 11, a fire ravaged Winters Hotel. The building was deemed structurally unsound and ordered demolished by the City’s Chief Building Official on April 12. Demolition of the building began on April 21.
Two bodies were recovered during the demolition process on April 22.
