ON March 5 at the Coast Hotel and Convention Centre in Langley, guests of the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation Giving Hearts fundraising gala helped raise $215,000 for an urgently-needed piece of medical equipment.
Honouring the health care needs of our youngest community members, proceeds from the night will be put to work to purchase a state-of-the-art incubator for premature and sick newborns at Langley Memorial Hospital’s Maternity department. The Giraffe Omnibed Carestation nurtures these vulnerable newborns with warmth, encouraging growth and strength.
“Our future lives with our youth. That’s why we wanted to raise money for our youngest community members,” says gala co-chair Manjit Gill.
“It’s up to all of us to give them a strong, healthy start to life.”
Nearly 290 guests attended this lively gala, enjoying a silent auction, a delicious South Asian-inspired dinner, musical entertainment from singer Tiffany Desrosiers and master sitarist Anju Bedi, and an inspirational presentation from Azim Jamal, a motivational speaker and best-selling author of the book The Power of Giving.
With this success, the Giving Hearts community has raised a total of $565,00 in support of health care at Langley Memorial Hospital since the gala’s inception in 2019.
