THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Friday announced that Gregory Joseph Scuby, 42, of Richmond was the dead male victim found in the 16600-block of Dyke Road in Richmond on Thursday.

Scuby was well known to police and investigators are working to determine motive, police said.

On May 17 at 11:15 a.m., the Richmond RCMP received a call from a passerby who came across a body in the 16600-block of Dyke Road.  Police attended this location and found a dead male lying on a dirt road.  The victim’s death was deemed suspicious and IHIT was called in.

IHIT is working closely with its partners from the Richmond RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.

To further the ongoing homicide investigation, IHIT released the victim’s name.

IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang said: “I urge those with information about Mr. Scuby’s murder to come forward and speak with IHIT.”
