Gregory Roy Sullivan, 56, of Sechelt is homicide victim in Halfmoon Bay shooting

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Saturday identified 56-year-old Gregory Roy Sullivan of Sechelt as Thursday’s homicide victim in the shooting in Halfmoon Bay in hopes of advancing its investigation.

On June 22 at 3:38 a.m., the Sunshine Coast RCMP were called to the 8000-block of Birch Way, Halfmoon Bay, after a report of a shooting. Frontline officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds outside a residence. Despite the efforts of first responders, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Two suspects were identified at scene and taken into custody. IHIT took conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely in partnership with the Sunshine Coast RCMP Detachment, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).

“We are still in the evidence gathering stages of the investigation,” said IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti. “We’re asking anyone who had recent interactions with Mr. Sullivan to contact IHIT, as we build a timeline of events leading up to this tragedy.”
