Guilty plea entered in 2021 Lynn Valley library homicide

A guilty plea has been entered by the accused in relation to the 2021 Lynn Valley library homicide.

On March 27, 2021, just before 1:40 p.m., North Vancouver RCMP received a report of multiple victims of a stabbing at the Lynn Valley Library.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found multiple victims inside the library suffering from stab wounds. Sadly, one woman succumbed to her injuries.

On March 28, 2021, 28-year-old Yannick Bandaogo was charged with second-degree murder, with five additional charges of attempt murder and one charge of aggravated assault being laid on September 16, 2021, according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

On May 29, 2023, on the first date of a scheduled 10-week trial, Bandaogo entered a guilty plea to all charges.

Sentencing is scheduled to being on July 5, 2023.
