HIGHWAY 99 at the Steveston Interchange in Richmond will be closed overnight Sunday, May 28 to allow crews to safely move heavy machinery across the highway for the new five-lane Steveston Interchange project, says the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
The full highway closure will happen between 11 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. The highway will fully re-open by 5 a.m. to drivers Monday, May 29.
During the highway closure, traffic will be detoured over the existing on- and off-ramps. Short-term traffic stoppages on the ramps may also be necessary during the work. Access for emergency responders, residents and businesses will be maintained throughout this work.
Drivers can expect minor delays and are asked to use caution through the detour.
