Hit-and-run, pedestrian-involved motor vehicle collision

SURREY RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian that occurred on Sunday in the Newton area of Surrey.

On Sunday at approximately 9 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a hit-and-run, pedestrian motor vehicle collision in the 7200-block of King George Boulevard.

A silver sedan was southbound on King George Boulevard when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street between the intersections. The subsequent collision resulted in the vehicle sustaining obvious front-end damage, likely to the right bumper.

The 40-year-old female pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and is described as a silver sedan, possibly a Honda, last seen travelling southbound on King George.

Police are currently on scene, canvassing for witnesses and video. Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage in the area of King George Boulevard and 72 Avenue between 8:45 and 9:15 p.m. is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2022-128137.
