SURREY RCMP announced on Monday that the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in after a person was located deceased inside a residence.
On January 9, just before 6 p.m., Surrey RCMP was called to a residence in the 13500-block of 84 Avenue for a report of deceased person located. Police found an adult male victim inside the residence and confirmed that he was deceased.
Initial evidence suggests that a shooting occurred at the residence in the morning, but went unreported until the victim was located.
The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time, which includes a road closure on 84 Avenue in both directions between King George Boulevard and 135A Street. IHIT will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.
Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase of the investigation.
Last night, The VOICE had reported that on Sunday at 5:56 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a police incident in the 13500-block of 84 Avenue.
