Hundreds of constituents joined Harry Bains, MLA for Surrey-Newton and Jinny Sims, MP for Newton North Delta for an End of Summer celebration at Unwin Park on Saturday.
Children enjoyed balloons and face painting while others listened to music and appreciated a cold drink and a hotdog.
“This is a great way to connect with my constituents” said Harry Bains, “It gives people an opportunity to meet in a more relaxed and casual atmosphere.”
The day was a great success. The weather turned out perfect; not a drop of rain and not too hot.
“This is just another way to communicate with people that may not have time to come by my office.” Said Jinny Sims, “It was a great turnout, the kids had fun and all in all everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.”
People came by to meet their elected representatives, get acquainted with their neighbours and enjoy the festivities.
