SURREY RCMP are working with Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) following the discovery of a deceased person in Newton on Sunday morning.

On December 10 at approximately 9 a.m., Surrey RCMP were called to the 12100-block of 62 Avenue for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon attendance, police located the deceased person in the vehicle.

IHIT has been deployed and is working in partnership with Surrey RCMP to determine the circumstances of the death and if criminality was a factor.

IHIT later tweeted: “No public safety concern.”
