IHIT called in to Mission after fatal stabbing

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to Mission after a victim of stabbing succumbed to his injuries.

On Thursday, July 13 at 6:13 p.m., the Mission RCMP were called to the area of the 32500-block of Lougheed Highway. Officers discovered a 42-year-old man suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as a man from Mission.  Investigators are not releasing the victim’s name at this time to allow for proper notification of the family.

“Investigators will continue to be in the area throughout the day,” said IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti. “This is an isolated incident and thanks to the quick response of the Mission RCMP members, there is no ongoing risk to the public.”
