IHIT investigating Maple Ridge homicide

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed in Maple Ridge.

On Sunday July, 21 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to reports of an unidentified female who was bleeding in the area of 232 Street and 132 Avenue in Maple Ridge. Police found a woman who had sustained serious injuries.

BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) and Maple Ridge Fire Department (MRFD) attended the scene and performed life-saving measures, but at approximately 3:25 p.m., the woman was pronounced dead on scene.

Ridge Meadows RCMP Investigational Support Team (IST) and Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) also attended the scene. Police said that there is no information to suggest there are threats to public safety at this time.

IHIT has conduct of this investigation.
