IHIT says Jatindeep Singh, 25, of Langley was Surrey homicide victim

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Friday identified 25-year-old Jatindeep Singh from Langley as the July 5 homicide victim in Surrey’s Strawberry Hills area in order to advance this investigation and identify additional witnesses.

Jatindeep Singh does not have a criminal record. IHIT said it can confirm that this shooting was a targeted, isolated incident.

On Friday, July 5 at approximately 5:30 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound in a parking lot near the 7300-block of 122 Street. The male was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He has now succumbed to his injuries. IHIT has taken conduct of this investigation.

IHIT is working in partnership with the BC Coroners Service, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section, and the Surrey RCMP Detachment.  Investigators are completing canvassing in priority areas, contacting associates, and reviewing the collected evidence.

IHIT investigators are looking to speak with the friends and associates of Jatindeep Singh.
