IIO investigates after two men injured during attempted arrest by Delta Police

DELTA Police said on they were in Langley on Wednesday evening on a matter related to a serious investigation from the previous week, when officers attempted to arrest two men. During the attempted arrest the two men received non-life-threatening injuries. They were eventually arrested. The incident occurred in the 2400-block of 200 Street in Langley.

Police said: “The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) has asserted jurisdiction regarding the circumstances of how the two men were injured. No civilians were injured during the incident and neither were any police officers injured.

“The RCMP has now taken conduct of the Delta Police investigation regarding the two men. This will run concurrent to the IIO investigation.”
