IN PHOTOS: Constitution Day of India celebration in Surrey, B.C.

The Constitution Day of India is celebrated every year on ovember26 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted to the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on January 26, 1950. The Consulate General of India, Vancouver, in partnership with Chetna Association of Canada, celebrated the ‘Constitution Day of India’ on Friday, November 26 at Surrey’s Khanna Banquet Hall. As part of the celebration, Chetna Association of Canada also presented Chetna Awards to individuals. Indian Consul General Manish and Indian Consul Manish Grover (4th and 5th photos, respectively) hosted Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Bruce Ralston (3rd photo) and other guests.
