Indian Consulate General invites applications from young professionals for two-week immersive India visit

THE Consulate General of India in Vancouver is inviting applications from interested candidates for the 88th edition of the Know India Program (KIP) for Young Professionals, scheduled to be held in India from August 16 to 29.

The program offers participants a unique opportunity to experience India’s rich cultural heritage, democratic institutions, innovation ecosystem, technological advancements, and economic development through an immersive two-week visit to India.

“We encourage eligible youth of Indian origin to take advantage of this enriching opportunity to reconnect with India, explore its dynamic growth story, and strengthen their lifelong ties with their ancestral homeland,” said Consul General Masakui Rungsung.

The two-week program will offer participants an in-depth understanding of India’s governance, economy, innovation and cultural heritage through visits to key national institutions, including Parliament, Rashtrapati Bhavan, NITI Aayog, the Reserve Bank of India and the Election Commission of India. Participants will also interact with policymakers, industry leaders and innovators, attend sessions on public policy and economic development, and visit heritage sites across several states and union territories.

The Government of India will cover 90 per cent of the international airfare, with participants contributing the remaining 10 per cent. Selected candidates will receive complimentary visas, while all boarding, lodging and domestic transportation in India will be fully sponsored by the Government of India.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), or eligible NRIs, aged 24 to 28 years as of August 1, 2026. They must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, be proficient in spoken English, and should not have previously participated in the Know India Programme or any similar Government of India-funded initiative.

Selected participants must obtain a valid international travel and medical insurance policy covering their entire stay in India and submit a medical fitness certificate before the issuance of their visa and air tickets.

After the conclusion of the program, a participant is required to submit a 750–1000-word report on their experience and key learnings at the end of the program. A Certificate of Participation will be awarded upon successful completion.
