LONDON: An Indian couple was found dead in their home in west London. The Scotland Yard on Saturday launched an investigation into the death of 36-year-old Sanjeev Kumar (also known as Satbir Singh) and his 35-year-old wife Poonam, whose dead bodies were found at their home inPriory Way, Southall-known as mini India.
Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command investigating the crime have said the death of Poonam was being treated as murder.
The post mortem took place on Saturday at Uxbridge mortuary and revealed the cause of death of the woman as compression of the neck and that of the man by hanging. Officers were called on Friday evening to an address in Priory Way where they discovered the bodies of a man and a woman, both in their 30s. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Scotland Yard said on Sunday “At this stage, officers are treating the death of the woman as murder. The death of the man is not being treated as suspicious”.
“No one else is being sought in connection with this incident at this time,” Scotland Yard added.
