FEDERAL NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh on Thursday welcomed the B.C. Supreme Court ruling against legalizing private health care.

He said in a statement: “Today’s decision is a win for public health care.

“Health care should be there for you and your family whenever you need it, no matter how much money is in your bank account.

“The global pandemic has shown us that we need to invest more — not less — in our healthcare system.

“We will continue to fight for your health by reversing the healthcare cuts that Stephen Harper imposed and Prime Minister [Justin] Trudeau maintained.

“And we will continue to fight for you to finally have access to pharmacare, dental care and a health care system that covers your family from head to toe.”
