VANCOUVER Whitecaps FC announced on Tuesday that world-renowned Canadian Punjabi recording artist Jazzy B will be performing at the club’s third annual Vaisakhi Celebration Match, presented by MNP, this coming Saturday, April 6 at BC Place.
Prior to the match, fans are invited to The Warmup on Terry Fox Plaza for a Pre-Game Performance presented by RED FM featuring Jazzy B joined by DJ Heer, setting the stage before a massive all-Canadian MLS match for the ‘Caps against Canadian rivals Toronto FC.
Then at halftime, Jazzy B will be back to perform for the crowd at BC Place, joined by drummers and dancers from the Shan E Punjab Arts Club. For ticket information, visit whitecapsfc.com/tickets.
Jaswinder Singh Bains AKA Jazzy B was born in Durgapur, Nawanshahr, Punjab, India, and moved to Surrey with his family in his youth. After moving to Canada he began to mix hip hop culture with bhangra music, creating a unique style that became a global sensation. In 2016, Jazzy B became the first South Asian to be inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, earning a star on Vancouver’s StarWalk on Granville Street.
Since releasing his debut album titled “Ghugian Da Jorra” in 1993, he has released 17 studio albums in total, multiple EP’s and singles and has won countless international awards, including multiple PTC Punjabi Music Awards, and Brit Asia TV Music Awards.
Throughout his career, Jazzy B has been featured by outlets such as the New York Times. He has collaborated with numerous other acclaimed artists, including Snoop Dogg, while his song “Sat Rangey” featured on the soundtrack of the movie Deadpool. As an actor, Jazzy B has appeared in several prominent Indian films and shows.
