THE Burnaby RCMP said on Friday that its Gang Enforcement Team, while conducting proactive patrols in the Hastings Street and Gilmore Avenue area, conducted a vehicle stop. Officers observed a man discarding a large knife and attempting to walk away.

Officers detained the man for investigation and located a loaded handgun in his man purse.
