Male youth charged in connection to August 11 stabbing in Abbotsford

THE BC Prosecution Service has approved charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and robbery against a male youth in connection to the August 11 stabbing in Abbotsford.

On September 28, members of Abbotsford Police’s Major Crime Unit, with the assistance of Surrey RCMP, had arrested the youth.

On August 11, at 2:38 a.m., Abbotsford Police patrol officers conducting routine patrols located a 37-year-old female in medical distress in the intersection of Gladwin Road and South Fraser Way. Officers determined that the female had been stabbed.
Emergency medical care was provided and the victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries. As a result, the investigation was transitioned to the Abbotsford Police’s Major Crime Unit (MCU), supported by the Forensic Identification Section (FIS).
