Man apprehended after driving vehicle into Pacific Coliseum

VANCOUVER Police are investigating after a man drove a vehicle into the Pacific Coliseum on Thursday evening.

Just after 8 p.m., a 30-year-old man drove into the front entrance of the Pacific Coliseum while a Cirque du Soleil show was in progress. Coliseum security detained the man until VPD officers arrived and took him into custody.

The suspect, a Vancouver resident, was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital.

There have been no reported injuries.

The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
