A criminal charge has been approved against a man after he allegedly assaulted a nurse at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody in November.

On November 20, just before noon, police were called to the hospital for a report of a discharged patient who was alleged to have assaulted a nurse. The female nurse sustained serious injuries as a result.

“Port Moody Police officers arrested the man immediately after the incident and have since recommended charges to British Columbia Prosecution Service,” said Constable Sam Zacharias on Monday. “The charge of assault causing bodily harm has now been approved against 41-year-old Shawn Bradley Forsythe of no fixed address.”

Forsythe is due at Port Coquitlam Court on February 10, 2025.
