A Langley man has pled guilty to murder in BC Supreme Court in the deaths of three of his family members in June 2020 in Langley.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said that on June 13, 2020, Langley RCMP officers responded to a call in the 19600-block of Wakefield Drive and found the residence engulfed in flames. Officers located Francesco Zangrilli inside the residence, suffering from fatal stab wounds.

The dead bodies of Tatiana Bazyar and Befrin Ebrahimian were later located inside the residence.

IHIT took conduct of the investigation and worked closely in partnership with the Langley RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).

As a result of the investigation, IHIT investigators identified Kia Ebrahimian, the brother of Befrin Ebrahimian and son of Tatiana Bazyar, as a suspect in the homicides and arson.

On July 10, 2020, Kia Ebrahimian was arrested on three counts of second-degree murder. The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) laid charges against Ebrahimian in relation to all three homicides.

On October 3, 2022, Kia Ebrahimian entered three guilty pleas to charges of second-degree murder in relation to the deaths of Francesco Zangrilli, Tatiana Bazyar and Befrin Ebrahimian.

Ebrahimian is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing in December.

As this investigation remains before the courts, IHIT said it will provide no further comment at this time.
