A man has been shot dead at a Surrey business in the 13000-block of 76 Avenue.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the conduct of the investigation.

The business mentioned at the front of the building is “Advanced Learning Centre.” However, there are several other businesses in that building. Community sources claim that the victim was a young male ho had rented office space on the second floor.

At approximately 3:03 p.m. on Monday, May 4, Surrey Police Service (SPS) frontline officers responded to calls of a shooting at the business. Officers located a man apparently suffering from gunshot wounds and provided medical assistance until BCEHS arrived. Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced deceased on scene.

No arrests have been made and at this early stage there is no suspect information to share, police said.

IHIT is working in partnership with SPS to complete priority investigative tasks.
