CHARGES have been approved by the BC Prosecution Service against a Vancouver man following a Vancouver Police investigation into a murder last July.

Officers responded to 9-1-1 calls about shots being fired call near Main Street and East 48th Avenue on July 13, 2020.  Amin Shahin Shakur, 30, was found dead at the scene.

Police said at the time that the victim did not have an extensive police history.

Mohammed Abu-Sharife, 41, has been charged with second degree murder.

Abu-Sharife will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
