Motorcyclist killed in collision after failing to stop for police

VANCOUVER Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Wednesday night, and are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dash cam video of the incident to call investigators.

Just after 9 p.m. on November 6, a motorcyclist failed to stop for police near East Hastings and Victoria Drive. It is alleged he collided into several vehicles along Victoria Drive before crashing into a tree near Victoria and 8th Avenue.

Despite life-saving attempts made by first responders, the 21-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene.

The Independent Investigations Office of BC has been notified, due to the fact that the collision occurred following an attempted traffic stop, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
