ON Wednesday, August 6 at approximately 5:56 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 200 Street and 80 Avenue in Langley. The incident involved a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Despite the life-saving efforts of first responders, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. They are cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.

“We have spoken to several witnesses and reviewed dash camera footage. Preliminary examination suggests that speed was a contributing factor in this tragic collision,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of Langley RCMP. “The rules of the road exist to protect all of us. We urge drivers to drive responsibly and within the limits of the law.”
