SURREY RCMP announced on Wednesday that multiple charges had been approved against an individual who was arrested in the Guildford area.
On April 16 at approximately 5:06 a.m., police responded to complaints of a disturbance in the 14900-block of 101A Avenue. Frontline officers attended the area and located a man who was the subject of the complaint. While interacting with the man, officers observed what appeared to be a firearm on his person. The male suspect attempted to flee on foot; however, he was arrested shortly after. A loaded pistol was recovered at the scene.
Bryce Scott Telford, 27, has been charged with three counts of firearms-related offences, one count of resist arrest and one count of breach of a court order prohibiting him from possessing firearms. Telford has been remanded and remains in custody until his next court appearance.
“The frontline officers who attended this file demonstrated good policing instincts and quick thinking in a potentially risky situation,” said Cpl. Sarbjit Sangha, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, on Wednesday. “Their actions helped to safely remove a loaded firearm from our streets.”
