THE Surrey RCMP North Community Response Unit (CRU) recently seized multiple weapons, drugs and arrested individuals with outstanding warrants during one shift in the City Centre.

On October 3, the North CRU conducted enforcement, targeting the open drug trade in the Whalley area. Officers arrested 14 people for drug trafficking and four arrest warrants were executed against three individuals.

The following was seized from multiple people:

  • 16 weapons, including a pellet gun, brass knuckles, a Billy club, a baton, a bear mace, and a variety of knives;
  • Suspected cocaine – 41.24 grams
  • Suspected fentanyl – 56.08 grams
  • Suspected methamphetamine – 37.1 grams

“The quantity of drugs and weapons seized from open-air drug traffickers is concerning to us,” said Staff-Sgt. Nigel Pronger. “The traffickers are carrying more weapons, which leads to others also carrying weapons. Police teams will continue to conduct overt enforcement and targeted investigations in City Centre to ensure the public is safe.”

Anyone who wishes to report suspicions regarding drug trafficking or witnesses a drug transaction is encouraged to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 to speak with a police officer.
