US Vice President JD Vance announced at a press conference in Islamabad, Pakistan, that the U.S. and Pakistan have failed to reach an agreement.

Vance said that the Iranians had chosen not to accept the U.S.’s terms.

He said that the U.S. hadn’t yet seen a fundamental commitment of will by Iran not to develop a nuclear weapon in the future.  He added: “We haven’t seen that yet. We hope we will.”

Vance said: “”We leave here with a very simple proposal, a method of understanding that this is our final and best offer. We’ll see if the Iranians accept it.”

There was no mention of the Strait of Hormuz.

Experts say that this shows that Iran is not in as much of a hurry as the U.S. is to reach an agreement.
