JUST after noon on Saturday, Abbotsford Police received a call from a member of the public who reported a truck they believed had been stolen from Chilliwack. The caller advised they had recognized the vehicle after seeing a post on social media.

Abbotsford Police officers responded immediately and, with the assistance of the caller, located the stolen truck while it was being driven in west Abbotsford. Officers followed the vehicle discreetly and, with support from the Air 1 Police Helicopter, waited until it was safe to take enforcement action.

Once the truck came to a stop and parked, officers moved in and arrested the driver without incident. A 36‑year‑old woman, who is known to police, was taken into custody and later transferred into the care of the Chilliwack RCMP where she is facing criminal charges.
